Made by eighteen kids and teens attending Fundación Nur’s Bright Gems program.
The inspiration of this activity was the beautiful Cuenca.
Younger kids (6 to 10 years old) painted the riverside of the Tomebamba River, and older kids (11 to 14 years old) painted the domes of Cuenca’s Cathedral.
These works were exhibited in “Casa Abierta 2023” at Fundación Nur, and in the exhibition “La Bella Cuenca” at the Museo de Arte Moderno in the city of Cuenca, receiving excellent reviews.
All this was possible thanks to the tireless work of the artist Nela Navarrine, vice-president of the Foundation, who generously provided the means and knowledge to the children, with love and dedication, giving individual attention to each one of them.
The funds collected will be used to pay for the bus, tickets and snacks for 27 children to visit the Yaruk Allpa Animal Shelter in Tarqui, and more educational field trips in the surrounding area depending on the funds raised.
If you live outside of Ecuador, you will receive a printed copy of the painting that you bought.
If you live in Cuenca, you can pick your framed original painting at Fundación Nur.
Young artists will receive a framed print as a keepsake.
